Beloved

We are beloved children of God, precious in God’s sight. No one is excluded from God’s love.

It is for everyone, including you!

BAPTISM

Baptism is a visible sign of God’s never ending love for us. We baptize people of all ages – infants, adults, and everyone in between.

RIC

We are a Reconciling in Christ congregation.

Connected by the love of Jesus, we at First Lutheran welcome people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions, abilities, socio-economic status, citizenship status or political affiliation. Committed to inclusivity, racial equity, anti-racism and justice, we are centered in the love of God through Jesus and gather as beloved in Christ.

We affirm that in Christ, “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28)

Holy Communion

Holy Communion is another visible sign of God’s grace and love. We receive forgiveness, spiritual nourishment, and the presence of Jesus through the bread and wine (we also have gluten-free wafers and grape juice available).

Children can receive communion at any age. We also offer First Communion classes in the early spring.

There are no tests to pass, no theological criteria to meet, no barriers to the table to Jesus. All are welcome to be fed with the Bread of Life!

Confirmation

We offer a two year program that prepares young people to affirm their baptism. Most youth begin in 7th grade, but we welcome people of all ages who wish to know more about the Bible, the teachings of Martin Luther, and understanding our Lutheran faith.
